Sumner County Dispatchers continue with "Beyond the Console"
Since 2001, Sumner County Emergency Communications
dispatchers have raised funds each Christmas for a family
less fortunate, a project that has been dubbed, "Beyond
the Console". This year, dispatchers selected a former
colleague who has been diagnosed with bone and colon
cancer, and is undergoing extensive radiation and
chemotherapy treatments.
By raffling Christmas lawn decorations and hosting a
chili feed in November, dispatchers raised nearly $1600 to
help their former co-worker through their trying time.
