Duties of the President
- performing all duties of First Vice President in his/her absence.
- serving as Vice-Chairperson of the Activities and Membership Committee.
- serving as Co-Chair of the Training Committee with the First Vice President.
- participating in Executive Committee activities, as assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.
- report all information which comes to his/her knowledge regarding the needs and concerns of the
Chapter membership.
- serves as Chair of the Historical Committee.
- serves as the Vendor Liaison for the Chapter.
- strive to take positive actions to address the best interest of both the Chapter and the Association at
Executive Council meetings.
- report to the Chapter and/or the Executive Committee any actions taken by the Executive Council
which may affect the Chapter.
- serve as a member at large on the Chapter Executive committee.
- chair a discussion on any proposed resolution to be presented to the APCO Annual Conference Quorum.
- serve as Ex-officio member of all committees.
- preside at all Chapter Conferences.
- see that the conduct of all Chapter affairs are in keeping with the Constitution.
- appoint two members of the Chapter to do a yearly audit on the Chapter's financial books.
- serve as Secretary to the Board of Officers, the Executive Committee and the Chapter Conference
business sessions.
- keep complete membership roll of the Chapter.
- file required reports regularly with the Association Membership Department.
- receive all funds belonging to the Chapter, maintain bank accounts.
- pay from Chapter accounts all obligations as directed by the Chapter, or upon orders from the
Executive Board during intervals between Chapter Conferences.
- prepare a financial report and present it at the fall conference and for audit purposes.
- maintain all financial records and minutes of the meetings of the Chapter of Executive Committee in
their original form for a period of two years.
- upon leaving office, promptly deliver all monies and active records to the successor or to whomsoever
the Executive Committee may designate to receive them.
- along with one other officer designated in accordance with the Constitution, be bonded at the
Chapters expense. Arrangements for the bond will be made by the Secretary/Treasurer and approved
by the President, before the Chapter is obligated to make payment for the bond. (If the elected
Secretary/Treasurer cannot be bonded, they must resign immediately).
- perform all mailings for the chapter conferences, after receiving the training schedule from the Second
Vice President, within 1 1/2 months prior to the conference.
- perform mailings to all vendors inviting their participation 2 to 3 months prior to the conference date.
- be responsible for assigning executive board members or other members to introduce each instructor
at the conference.
- serve as Chairperson of the Activities and Membership Committee.
- serve as Co-Chair of the Training Committee.
- contact prospective committee chairpersons and members, making ready for presentation upon
taking office of the President.
- perform all special Executive Committee duties, assigned by the President.
