Senate Substitute for HB2582
|
This is the latest version of the bill as reworked by the Senate.
Amendments were offered on the Senate Floor on March 24th,
the content of which is not yet available.
Update March 25
This is the Senate Journal documenting the debate on HB2582.
Discussion begins on Page 1270 of the Journal, about the 12th
line from the top of the page.
Update May 7
The House and Senate Utilities Committees signed off on a
conference committee report this week, agreeing to continue for
one year the current funding mechanism for 911 – a $.75 fee for
hardwire phones and $.50 for wireless phones. The report also
prohibits use of the fees for subscriber radios and requires
additional reporting requirements from PSAPs in order to gain
more information on funding needs. The committees did not
meet in a conference committee to finalize and sign the report
as usual, but circulated the report for signatures. Both
chambers adopted the report and therefore the bill is final – it
heads to the Governor for signature. KAC will return next year
to work with LKM and the telecommunications industry to
conclude 911.
